Concluding Tournament Run

Minnesota Stars 14u, coached by Mark Smith, won the yellow division at the Best of the Midwest Jam Tournament in Schaumburg, IL. They also won the consolation championship of the Red Bracket at the Music City Madness Tournament in Nashville, TN. The team went on an impressive 10-1 run during the last week of games, finishing off the season strongly, including a decisive victory during an exhibition match with the All Michigan 16u team. Earlier in July they won the blue division of the Adidas Mid-America Classic, playing against all 15u teams. They also played up a grade level at the Sophomore Super Showcase in Orlando, FL, again playing up against elite quality 15u teams and qualifying in pool play for the top bracket. Overall, the team went 25-8.

Tourney #7: Music City Madness (July 22-25)

The Minnesota Star 14u team went 4-1, obtaining the Consolation crown of the Red Bracket at the Music City Madness Tournament in Nashville, TN.

Tourney #6: Disney Sophomore Super Showcase (July 8-10)

The girls went to Orlando, FL, to play in the Disney Sophomore Super Showcase at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. They played up against top-tier, national 15U teams and competed well against them. The physicality and speed of the game challenged the girls and they stepped up. Undoubtedly the experience will aid them in their development. While the Sports Center is quite a nice facility for playing such a tournament, the courts were dark and not well-lit for photography. Please excuse the photo quality because of that.

Tourney #5: Adidas Mid-America Classic (July 5-7)
